We are an Association of reliable advocates protecting the interest of our valued Members.

We strive to advance and promote the academic and professional interests of our membership, both as a group and as individuals.

Your Faculty Association is run by volunteers on behalf of the working faculty Members of Bow Valley College. The Executive Team plays a significant role in protecting the interests of the collective Members.

This role includes advancing and forecasting standards of excellence in learning, acting as the representative of Members for negotiations, bargaining, and grievances, and ensuring the terms and conditions of employment are being met.

The needs and wishes of our Members are the driving force behind everything we do, and our official objectives are the bedrock of this organization. We are on a mission to:

  • Act as Your Representative: The BVCFA acts as the representative of Members of the Faculty Association in negotiating, monitoring, and enforcing the terms and conditions of employment.

  • Uphold Excellent Learning Standards: Fostering standards of excellence in learning.

  • Encourage a Sense of Community: Foster academic and social community among Members of the Faculty Association.

  • Support Your Professional Interests: Advance and promote the academic concerns and professional interests of its Members as individuals and groups.

  • Build Positive Relationships: Foster good relationships between the Faculty Association, the College, the Board, the community, and external organizations.

  • Promote Academic Excellence: Promote the independence and freedom of academic thought and teaching.

  • Protect Your Best Interests: Deal with any matters considered by the Executive Committee to be in the interest of the Association or its Members.
