Negotiations Update June 2022

Dear Faculty,

As we come into the summer months, many of our members are wondering how our contract negotiations are faring. Following is a brief update from Phil Flegel, our VP Negotiations, regarding bargaining progress and current status. If any members have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the BVCFA.
Hello Everyone:

Just wanted to give the entire membership a status report on the negotiations with the employer as it stands at the end of June 2022.

We have been meeting regularly with the employer since November 2021 at the bargaining table. Both sides have presented various proposals of interest. While there have been some agreements on some issues, we have not yet concluded the bargaining to formalize a new collective agreement.

As such, contract negotiations are now in abeyance until September 14, 2022, when both sides will return to the bargaining table.

It is important to note that the current collective agreement remains in effect until a new one is ratified by both sides.

It is the BVCFA Bargaining Team’s hope that a new collective agreement will be presented to the membership for your ratification in the Fall of 2022.
